What does it mean when a reach school invites you to apply?
It may be nothing…. But Washington & Lee has sent me numerous emails and invitations to apply. Do they do this for everyone? My numbers are 159/3.54 which is not very competitive for W&L but I decided to apply because of the fee waiver. In less than a day my application has been received, gone complete, and is currently under review.
Do schools send out invitations to apply to everyone?

Yes, so they can reject you and boost their selectivity rating /thread

W&L let in 19 out of 231 applicants (8%) with your range of numbers.

And yes, they send them to many applicants. I have a 6% chance based on the above chart, and they have emailed me several times, sent a letter, and the booklet.

Means nothing. Columbia granted me a fee waiver and Harvard invited me (3x) to visit them at their booth at a forum in NYC. I have a 3.3 GPA. Just sayin'

Hey now! a 180 and a 3.3 gives you decent chances at all of those!Mike12188 wrote:Means nothing. Columbia granted me a fee waiver and Harvard invited me (3x) to visit them at their booth at a forum in NYC. I have a 3.3 GPA. Just sayin'

i was offered to apply to Wand L, but im not.
It doesnt mean anything if they invite you to apply. If you want to apply, and its only going to cost $12- then do it. Hope for a miracle, but be ready for the rejection.

The problem is that LSP does not detect GPA floors. After looking at LSN data for the past three cycles there seem to be only 2 non-URMs who made it into Harvard with sub-3.5 GPAs and 177+ LSATs and one of them - 3 cycles ago- has crazy good softs and the other - last cycle- got in off a WL and also claims to have good softs. However, there was noone with a 3.3 GPA who made it in, URM or not. So it seems that for a 3.3 Harvard is out.txadv11 wrote:Kinda kidding. but he mentioned Columbia (strong consider-66%) Harvard (Consider 38%) lawschoolpredictor.com
As for Columbia there was only one 3.3 applicant who got in. He had a 180, applied ED and it was 3 cycles ago. From the data it seems that getting over a 3.4 is a big game changer but even then its far from a lock even with a 180.

I don't think W&L charges an app fee...
