Notre Dame Application Question Forum

So I was looking at the Notre Dame app and saw that it asked for what schools I was applying for/planning to apply for... what do I do about this? Do I literally have to tell them every singles school and how does this effect my chances.. I'm 3.4/169 and I'm applying to about 18 different schools...

any insight would be appreciated.

Fill up as much space as you can, while listing peer schools first (those in the same area or with similar rankings).

I believe it's optional. So if I were you, I'd probably just leave it blank. With applying to 18 schools, they're probably more likely to waitlist you. Especially ND which seems to like applicants who seem very interested in Notre Dame, specifically.

I listed a few peer schools and left off my top choices. I'm not sure if this is the way to go, but I went back and forth between that or leaving it blank. I decided that I felt the need to put something there...

OP i would put them down. if it is going to influence your chances you are being unfair to those of us who really desire to go to ND. 18 schools are you just after prestige?

exactly how many I'm applying to, and yes basically lol.

I'm applying to about that many as well, and I chose to list them on applications that ask for them. For those of us that are stretching for t14 but then have safeties around t30, there seems to be a lot of great options and I have no clue what's going to happen with acceptances. I feel like I could get into a t14 and then waitlisted at all schools from 20-30, who knows. I guess I don't have as much faith in the "it all comes down to numbers" belief.

also I'm compensating for only looking at 5 schools and applying to 1 in college, so who knows.
