Fee Waiver from Washington & Lee?
Did anyone get an email recently from Washington and Lee? I got a fee waivers from them but I seriously don't think my numbers deserve a waiver from them. So I'm wondering if is it because they're trying to get more applicants so that their acceptance rate will look better?

seriously, if that's their real motive then it's terrible.cortnf wrote:You hit the nail on the head with that one.cmu wrote:Did anyone get an email recently from Washington and Lee? I just looked at your previous posts. How are you not fee waiver material for W&L with a 170+? Is your GPA horrendous? According to LSN, they let in a non-URM 171/2.6 last year. Did you kill somebody?

Why? They get an extra application, you get a reduced-cost gamble (12 vs 62 or whatever it is originally). It is better than other schools (Harvard and Yale) that send you a letter inviting you to apply with no fee waiver when your chances are essentially zero.cmu wrote:seriously, if that's their real motive then it's terrible.cortnf wrote:You hit the nail on the head with that one.cmu wrote:Did anyone get an email recently from Washington and Lee? Haha I got one with a 153/3.64! I'd say I've got about a 0.0001% chance of getting an acceptance.

I get the impression that Washington and Lee is not very popular compare to other law schools, is that correct?

Strongly considering it, but I truly hate the LSAT. My GPA will likely be lower by the time I graduate in May. USNWR:
W&L: #34
Vast majority of schools talked about on this forum: T14
So no, W&L is not as popular on these boards as other law schools.

I would recommend a retake, I got a 158 on my first one, and then retook got a 166. It's definitely possible to improve if you put in enough effort.irenic wrote:Strongly considering it, but I truly hate the LSAT. My GPA will likely be lower by the time I graduate in May. Did LGB and self timed practice test along with Nova's Master the LSAT. Would probably take a class and do the other bible if I were to retake and more thoroughly analyze missed questions the 2nd time around.cmu wrote:I would recommend a retake, I got a 158 on my first one, and then retook got a 166. Idk. I think it's problem is it is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The town is really nice but in a college town sorta way, not a "This is where I want to get my professional school way". I visited Lexington looking at VMI undergrad which is in the same town.cmu wrote:I get the impression that Washington and Lee is not very popular compare to other law schools, is that correct?
Also, William and Mary draws applicants away too bc it is ranked higer, has about the same numbers, and slightly more name recognition in the region.

Re: Fee Waiver from Washington & Lee?
How did you guys get a fee waiver when the school has no application fee?
http://law.wlu.edu/admissions/page.asp?pageid=305We know that these are challenging financial times for a great many people, and we don't want an application fee to preclude you from applying to W&L Law. Consequently, we have made the necessary arrangements with the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) so that no fee will be assessed when you apply. For this admissions cycle, applying to W&L Law will be free of charge.

Re: Fee Waiver from Washington & Lee?
I didn't read that as being a free app for everyone; I read it as a fee waiver. But W&L may be tricking me with vague language. Not applying anyway though so it doesn't really matter.jjlaw wrote:How did you guys get a fee waiver when the school has no application fee?

W&L is not charging an application fee for anyone this year.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
