Re: Send only 1 LOR to schools that require only 1?
I was thinking of starting a thread to ask the same question. I have 1 LoR that I'm sure is glowing and another that is probably average/generic.
The Anna Ivey book stresses quality over quantity in LoRs, but I would love to hear some responses to this.

I agree with quality over quantity. They probably only require one if they want to cut down on the amount of paperwork they have to wade through. So if you have one amazing rec, send that in. If you have two amazing recs, then send both in. But if only one is really glowing, I think you're better off just sending one in.The Gentleman wrote:I was thinking of starting a thread to ask the same question. If you're certain the one is generic then don't send it
But some schools require 2 so you'll need to come up with two good recs.

Always send 1 more than is required, unless otherwise restricted.
