How Long Are Your Personal Statements? Forum

Mine is exactly 1000 words, after some playing with page settings and fonts, it fits in two pages. I'm wondering how long your Personal Statements are?

I think page count is more important than word count. For schools that didn't have a page limit, mine was 2.5 pages. I cut it to two for schools that did.

Exactly 2 pages, 11-point Times New Roman

I think no more than 3 pages with normal margins for schools that don't specify. You've got to remember how many personal statements these adcomms are going to be reading. You don't want their eyes to glaze over half-way through.

Two full pages, double-spaced. I think 11 point font, 1 inch margins, etc.
