Meeting application deadlines

Post by LockBox » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:11 pm

Question: If there is an ED deadline (or any other deadline you want to meet) at a law school, is there a specified amount of time that you must apply through LSAC in order to meet that deadline? This is assuming all transcripts, LOR's and LSATs have been processed and are ready to go. Thanks!

The longest it took for my application report to be requested and then sent was two days....if the deadline specifies that your application must be complete by the deadline I suggest you call the school and ask them how long it takes for them to verify the completeness of the file because this will vary by school. One of my schools took a full week to list it as complete whereas another only took a day.

To clarify, if you have submitted your app through lsac, does that mean that the school treats the app as "received" at that same time? Or is there a gap between them. I was planning on submitting my application tonight in order to meet the deadline of november 15th.

All of my status checkers said "received" at first and then switched to "complete."

EDIT: Not sure if I answered your question correctly, I am pretty sure you can check to see if the application has been received by the schools by going to the report page, the icon will say something like report has been generate, requested, and sent...if it says this, I am pretty sure it means the school has received it. One of my icons did not say this for a day or two and when I called LSAC they said the school had simply not requested it yet, but when they do, the report will be immediately sent.
