What is the best law school predictor?
There are a bunch of sites for predicitions which one is the best? It seems to me that most leave out undergrad institution which is a pretty big factor.

Collective TLS knowledge is that unless it is HYP, ugrad institution it is not much of a factor. I like Law School Predictor -- don't know if it is the best or not.trayball23 wrote:There are a bunch of sites for predicitions which one is the best? Yeah, undergrad doesn't really matter so much.

lol which is a combination of all the predictors and the random mood of the person posting. Actually, pretty realistic.s0ph1e2007 wrote:the best is actually probably using the the 'chance me' thread on TLS

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but why aren't more people citing the Official Guide on LSAC?

If you're a splitter though, I've found none are terribly useful. I got accepted in the first round of admits at NW, where I was a "Consider", and waitlisted at UVA, UMich, and Cornell - I was "Admit" at all of those.

Re: What is the best law school predictor?
I don't know LSAC's guide seems kind off, just from looking at it. Although, I know I don't have much chance at either school, LSAC suggests I have the same chance at NYU as at Michigan with a 3.55/170. It's my understanding I am definitely out at NYU, while Michigan could accept me if I'm lucky.tlsuser wrote:I don't know if this has been discussed before, but why aren't more people citing the Official Guide on LSAC?

Re: What is the best law school predictor?
LSP is good for a general idea but often they are not accurate at showing schools that have GPA/LSAT floors. Some schools will flat out not accept you if you arent at a certain LSAT/GPA. LSN is good to see where people with your comparable numbers ended up last year, but a lot of the time they will have applied VERY late , or you never know how weak/strong their application was. A Ding with your comparable numbers might be because of 2 DUIs, a terrible PS, or something else. Looking at enough profiles you see the balance between numbers/applying late/softs/etc.
