Deferring Admission & Applying to Other Schools Next Cycle
So say I get accepted to a school this cycle and defer admission for one year to gain some work experience. I assume it would be a breach of the deferral agreement to retake the LSAT and apply again to better schools the following cycle? Anyone know/have experience with this?

Deferring is basically applying ED for next cycle and immediately getting accepted. For you to apply to other schools, you would have to opt out of your deferral and reapply to that school the next year if you still wanted considered.

I deferred this year for medical reasons and had to sign a contract with the school to not apply or accept admission to another school. These adcom staffers talk to each other. I wouldn't advise trying to game the system, you may find yourself sitting on the outside looking in.

if you get accepted to a school that you dont want to go, then turn down the acceptance. If you defer acceptance, than you are telling them that you will go there next year. If you want to re take the LSAT and apply to different schools, just say no thanks, and reapply to wherever you want next year. Of course you can still apply to the school again, but if you dont want to go there this year, and things dont change, and you arent in a position for money- why waste your time?
