Michigan and NYU fee waivers anyone??

Post by dpk711 » Fri Nov 05, 2010 7:26 pm

Does NYU and Michigan give out LSAT fee waivers?
I got a fairly good score for the Oct. LSAT (172) and got a bunch this week including Virginia, Northwestern, UCLA, Vandy, Duke, etc. etc... Does NYU and Michigan give such out? If so, when?

Well, I know I decided not to apply to a few schools because I didn't get a hidden fee waiver.

Nevertheless, I think the school could get a bigger applicant pool if they actively sent emails about their fee waivers... why wouldn't they? it still puzzles me

Both were hidden, I received a Michigan e-mail about a week after I discovered the hidden one (in September) and then a snail mail viewbook (unrequested, but this happened to many people, I believe). NYU did not happen until two days after October test results, was hidden, and I've never received an e-mail or anything from them.

Edit: Still no Chicago, and I went ahead and applied, was the only app I paid for (applied to Columbia, Chicago, NYU, Michigan, Virginia, NU, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, etc... I received way more fee waivers than my numbers justify, probably a bunch of schools figured I'd think I had an outside chance and could be cannon fodder for their acceptance rate)

Got fee waiver to Michigan via snail-mail, also hand signed [lol].

The booklet that came with the letter is really nice--too bad I applied last week. Boo.

A hidden fee waiver is a CRS fee waiver that doesn't have an email that comes with it. You don't know you have one until you attempt to complete your app, and as you're confirming it it says that the fee is waived due to waiver rather than the money will be added to your checkout.
