Georgetown Part-Time Stats
Does anyone know the median stats (or whatever the averages are) for Georgetown's part-time program? Any help someone can give would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Wow thanks. I guess the question then is does part-time at GTown make more sense than full time at GW or a comparable school?

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
USNWR numbers for 2009 are slightly different
UGPA: 3.42/3.78
LSAT: 163-168
Also, there is speculation that PT will be harder to get into this year because USNWR began including part-time statistics in ranking calculations.

Just for comparison, GW cut their PT program bigtime (down to 50 i believe) and as a result were rewarded with an 8 point jump in the rankings last year.bdubs wrote:USNWR numbers for 2009 are slightly different

correlation is not causation, but im sure it was a significant part of their improved ratingsnematoad wrote:Just for comparison, GW cut their PT program bigtime (down to 50 i believe) and as a result were rewarded with an 8 point jump in the rankings last year.bdubs wrote:USNWR numbers for 2009 are slightly different

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
I would be careful depending on the above stats...it seems having an lsat at or even above the 75th isn't enough. I was rejected this cycle ED to GULC PT with a 168/3.5, and another guy in the GULC thread was waitlisted with a 169/3.5.

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
Georgetown used to treat PT as a sort of deferred wait list for FT. A large portion of the PT class transferred to FT after their 1L and graduated at the same time as those who did a FT 1L.
I don't know how much this has changed in the past 1-2 years.

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
I'd say in light of PT being now considered in the rankings you at least want to be a candidate for the FT program. I applied to both in my application, idk how that works but I hope it increases my chances -- though in retrospect they might just admit me to the PT program to keep their numbers up... damnit.

Do employers look at Georgetown PT as favorably as fulltime?

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
GULC PT student here.
PT medians are 3.59/167 according to this: http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admission ... Report.pdf
As to employers' attitude towards PT students, obviously there's no simple answer. Depends on the employer. My best guess based on talking to people, for what it's worth, is that PT students are at a disadvantage compared to FT students, but (a) not by as much as you might think, and (b) the disadvantage can be overcome, and even turned into a plus, with great work experience while you're in school.

Re: Georgetown Part-Time Stats
GULC also cut its PT program down to less than 70 students. (This thread was necro'd from a couple of years ago.)
