Fall Semester grades
For those of us that are applying as first semester seniors right now....how will this semester's grades be factored into our applications? Will I need to re-submit my transcript to LSAC? I've got a 3.9 right now, but another semester of A's will boost my GPA even more...anyone have any insight on this?

Sometimes they ask. If not, if you got a 4.0 in Fall, then update your transcript to bump your GPA a little, LSAC will update the schools automatically.

So would sending in your new acculm GPA render your old GPA (the one the schools originally received) void? I ask because if so, I will then have crossed the median GPA for one of the schools I am applying to. Thanks!

Yes they replace the old ASR with the new one. So congrats if you pull it off! So make sure you updated as soon as you get the grades.lalalawya wrote:So would sending in your new acculm GPA render your old GPA (the one the schools originally received) void? Nice! God bless the quarter system- I'll be able to update my GPA with (hopefully) another 4.0 quarter in mid december, in time for major decisions. Hopefully this helps, since it bumps me above the median/ 75% for many of my schools...

I have a question: once you send in your updated transcripts, and lsac updates it for all your schools, do you have to notify each school that lsac has updated your transcripts/gpa? Or does lsac just automatically send in another report that schools can't miss?

Automatically. They generate a new report and forward to the schools. They go and get it. I did 3 transcript updates in the last year, they get it.thecilent wrote:I have a question: once you send in your updated transcripts, and lsac updates it for all your schools, do you have to notify each school that lsac has updated your transcripts/gpa? Now the next question is: do we have to send updates? For example, I'll be graduating this winter so do I have to have my school's registrar's office send out updated transcript?
thanks.
thanks.

Send it if you want to update them. If not, don't. Schools might ask you to update for them once you enroll, though, I think.clone22 wrote:Now the next question is: do we have to send updates? Re: Fall Semester grades
Schools may also request you to send in fall grades, and will hold your application until you do so. I think NYU did a lot of that, among other schools. If not required and your grades go south, don't update.
