This always makes me nervous. I know I can get good LOR, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Then should I get a rec anyways, or is it really OK to just not get one for that school?

If you want to submit one, do it. But it's not like they normally actually influence your application anyway. All they say is so-and-so is a nice, hard-working person in a variety of different ways. If they don't require one, it's okay not to submit one. I would personally be slightly uncomfortable with not submitting one, but really, as I said, LORs don't affect anything.
