3.8/172 worth the app fee?
Planning to apply to Yale/Stanford just in case, but in your opinion is it worth $200? I can afford to pay it, but it's not like I'm making a fortune
... I guess I have average softs/LORs + Teach for America with an above-average PS, FWIW.

Yea, why not? Those can be your reach schools. Suppose the admissions committee at one of those schools really likes your app; $100 per school is worth the risk IMHO.
