Binding ED?
Numbers: 3.7, 169
I know using an ED will increase my chances at schools that might otherwise be a little bit of a reach, but I don't want to lock myself out of any scholarship money by doing so. What do you guys think? Would the $ be worth it to attend a Michigan or Duke (if I could get in) at sticker versus a lesser ranked school at discount? I'm pretty much willing to go anywhere in the country, btw.
Thanks for any input.

Not sure you should ED at UMich. Above their medians for LSAT and GPA. Not saying you're a lock but you definitely have a >50% chance imo
Duke, again, you don't need to ED, but your chance is lower there.
Look higher for EDs.

Okay.
Considering the nature of the economy and legal market I was assuming there would be more support for the contention that one should lean towards negotiating $ vs. being accepted to a relatively better school. Is this a fair assumption?

Your numbers will get Michigan and Cornell, but that's it for the T14. You can either lock up Michigan with an ED, or hold out for scholarship money elsewhere.

Seems like I should have some hope for Virginia (at LSAT median, above GPA) and Duke (above LSAT median, below GPA)...No?im_blue wrote:Your numbers will get Michigan and Cornell, but that's it for the T14. You can either lock up Michigan with an ED, or hold out for scholarship money elsewhere.

No, you're below both medians: UVA 3.85/170 and Duke 3.80/170.TheOcho wrote:Seems like I should have some hope for Virginia (at LSAT median, above GPA) and Duke (above LSAT median, below GPA)...No?im_blue wrote:Your numbers will get Michigan and Cornell, but that's it for the T14.
