General law school application questions

Post by chalhou1 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 3:33 pm

I took my first LSAT in October, planning to go to law school next fall. Have my transcripts and LOR's up on lsac, about to start my personal statement, and I'm waiting for the LSAT to apply. My questions are

For the personal statement, do you just type it in a word document and apply it to each application or do you just send it to LSAC?

Also I'm having trouble starting, how did you guys select what to write about?

Word doc, then you upload it to your apps on LSAC... As for topic say something unique about yourself and write it well.

ok thanks guys. A couple other things I'm wondering about

how behind am I currently? Should the applications be sent already?
Also if I apply and didn't get the score I wanted, retake in December, do I reapply?

You still have plenty of time. Nov/Dec is "on time" and Sep/Oct is "early" (Jan/Feb being "late"). Your LOR's should be in or almost in if you want to be "on time." I would be starting on my PS now at the latest, but this really depends on how long it takes you to crank it out and get it edited. Most (I think) schools will consider your December retake. You can always reapply or wait to apply next year.
