App to check status?

Post by fragged » Fri Oct 22, 2010 2:19 pm

I was thinking about writing an iPhone/Android app that would notify you of changes on any of your status-check pages. It would be pretty archaic and wouldn't look pretty, but it would get the job done.

Question is....

Especially if it used a Push Notification on the iPhone, where it automatically checked every 15 minutes and if there's an update it brings up a message like the Facebook or LinkedIn apps do. Pretty sure I would pay $5 for an app like that.

The status checker determines log in based on what site you are referred to the login screen. So you would have to go directly from the law school site to the login for it to work. So a phone app isn't going to work, unless it's just a collection of links to different law school websites (which is what I use on my computer)

LSAC can make this, and I wouldn't be surprised that they offer something like that eventually. But since schools are the ones updating the checkers, why should LSAC pocket the money? I am pretty sure schools have to pay LSAC to use the checkers/system. Something for the future perhaps... (directly from/by LSAC).

I thought about making this last year, they control it though.
