Only one LOR

Post by jllee2 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:18 pm

I only have one LOR. Some schools only require one LOR; will it hurt my app if I only submit one? It seems like everything I have read says I need at least two. I haven't worked in over a year, and I graduated 12/2008. I don't know where I would get another one from.

For schools that only require one I don't think that submitting only one will hurt you, so long as the letter isn't mediocre. Schools that require two of course won't even look at your application without a second letter.

Just get a second letter dude. It can't be that hard, just write an email to one of your professors and add that if he/she would be willing you could forward them your resume and/or transcript. They will do it.

For the schools that only require one LOR, it's better to just go with the one you have, rather than submitting a second mediocre one.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just use my one lor, and hope for the best. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt my app.
