Wait for it. Here it comes. Steady now. Wait... wait for it... almost...
BAM! RETAKE.
Seems like a decent list, but you're doing yourself a huge disservice by not shooting for a higher LSAT. Your GPA is fantastic; don't let it go to waste. (Still, you might wanna add UVA ED to your list).

You could probably get into UVA if you ED'd right now. If they don't take you, I'd recommend retaking and reapplying also.

Had major surgery four times in the passed four years (bone transplants, and some intense stuff) waiting on a 5th as soon as insurance finds the heart for an approval, but it can come at any time. A retake is off the table for the time being.

If this is the case, law school might not be a great option for you right now regardless. It's a major commitment in terms of time and money and will potentially define the entire rest of your life, because the quality of the school you go to does directly affect your odds of finding the type of employment you want (or any employment at all) when you graduate. Settling for just the best school that can take you at the moment isn't a great idea, which is what you're talking about doing.wolfpack11 wrote:Had major surgery four times in the passed four years (bone transplants, and some intense stuff) waiting on a 5th as soon as insurance finds the heart for an approval, but it can come at any time. I'd still suggest EDing to UVA, and applying to your "home run" schools, and maybe also Berkeley (they love high GPAs and a good story), UCLA (also seems to favor high GPAs, though it's still a reach for you), Illinois, and Indiana. You can probably get into at least one of those, and Illinois and Indiana will probably offer you money, which is what makes it worth applying there. Beyond that.. it looks like you're just taking a shot in the dark, your schools list is all over the place, and that's not a good sign. If you want to go broadly and have the best options available to you, you'd be better off trying to get into a national school even if that means significant delays to retake, rather than just applying to schools all over to try to find one that'll take you.

I think that your chances are above average at Indiana.

There is some methodology to the list. I have a lot of lawyers who are in the family (Nevada, Boston, Indiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, WV). I figure I can join up with them at some point, so there advice was to go to a school in the region in which one of them lives (the only biglaw guy is Boston, but the rest are members/partners at more local firms) and take on as little debt as possible unless a school warranted it (the reaches).

Actually in that case, blanket your list and go where you get scholarship money and will be as close as possible to one of these partners.wolfpack11 wrote:There is some methodology to the list.
