stop sign violation(dismissed) and parking ticket($25)

Post by dreamer » Wed Sep 15, 2010 2:18 pm

I got a ticket for stop sign violation. The case has been dismissed.
In addition, I have one parking ticket($25).

Some applications ask
Have you ever been convicted of, or is any charge now pending against you for any crime other than a traffic violation?
Have you ever been charged with or convicted of any crime or offense other than a minor traffic violation? This includes any charges that are currently pending or you reasonably expect to be brought against you.

The stop sign violation has been classified as Class C misdemeanor in my state, but it has been dismissed.
So I do not need to disclose it if they only ask for "convictions", but I need to disclose it if they ask for "charges".

I do not need to disclose my parking ticket at all. Because parking violation is a minor traffic violation.

Right?

If you're ever unsure of how to answer an app question, call and ask.

You can absolutely try this, but in my (limited) experience, when you call to ask about any C&F questions they mostly just tell you they can't advise you on how to interpret the question or what to include, but that it may or may not be best to err on the side of full disclosure. One school I called told me to hire a lawyer.

I think your interpretation sounds right. Just answer the questions as they're asked. If you are hesitant at all, just include it. I don't think your admission hangs in the balance because you rolled through a stop sign once.

Disclose it. It won't matter in the slightest.
