How far back on work experience?

Post by NCtoDC » Mon Sep 13, 2010 11:02 pm

I was wondering how far back I should go on my resume. I have had a full time job since I graduated high school...all through college (and a few part-time ones alongside the full-time ones); just run of the mill jobs, nothing fancy or exciting. What are your thoughts? I believe there are 9 total.

I would feel comfortable listing anything after you started college but would only list the ones that are resume worthy if that is understandable. If they can somehow be sold as having given you meaningful and relevant experience, I would list them. If you are looking for a number though, probably 5 max unless you can make more look acceptable on the page.

Even five jobs on a resume is a lot (as the above poster pointed out)...the standard is 2-3 (unless you've been out of UG for a long time). Only list the ones that are the most meaningful.
