Re: In at UVA, but i need advice
Go to UVA, stop worrying and you got EXTREMELY LUCKY for getting into UVA with a 162 LSAT.
I missed something. Not sure if you edited while I was posting...
So you claimed URM status while not entirely being one and you think this is what got you into UVA? I think its possible since your LSAT was only 162.
Im a URM, hispanic, but I dont know much about NA stuff. I hear thats Nightrunners specialty. Maybe he can help you out.

As a URM, I initially felt the need to comment, but I don't want to turn this into a URM debate. Congrats OP.

I think you're fine. You wrote an addendum specifically telling the school that you are not claiming to have grown up completely immersed in your native american heritage. You told them you just found out and admitted to being a "box-checker". They did with that what they wanted.

4.0 162 ED @ UVA is probably in regardless of how white you are. You could even be see-through.

Yes, definitely the best. UVA is a shameless number whore, they take numbers like that ED.

Re: In at UVA, but i need advice
I have also wondered about this-- I am also 1/16 but Shawnee-- according to my grandparents and my research, there are VERY few records available in our family or the tribe in general. Most were never included on government rolls and some were not federally recognized. My family has stayed in the area (Virginia/West Virginia) so I've never been to a reservation or anything like that.
I have been back and forth on whether to include this. Does it seem fair to put it in an addendum and leave it up to them? Or just not at all? I'm tempted to just leave it up to to them to decide..

Yes please write the "I've never been to a reservation or anything like that, but my grandmother says I'm 1/16th Native American, oh yeah there isn't any record of this. Just thought you should know" addendum.

Yeah no need to be an ass, that is just about exactly what the OP did, and a 160 is low even for ED (no offense! In is in, and you'll love it!)D.
