Quick Q regarding transcripts

Post by veragood » Thu Sep 09, 2010 2:26 pm

Obviously I have my transcript for the college I got my degree from, but I also took a single French class at a community college during last summer. I didn't take it for credit, it was merely to help me refresh before taking a higher level class back at my college.

Do I really have to get a transcript from this school? Will it come back to haunt me if I don't?

Thanks in advance..

So you weren't signed up, you just showed up to the classes?

No, I was technically a student there.

So you were officially enrolled, but you took the class Pass/Fail or something?

I'm not even sure; I probably didn't take it pass/fail, though. I'm sure I had an A but I straight up didn't show up for the last 2 weeks of class because I felt I had sufficiently caught up on French and didn't care. I didn't even care enough to see what grade I got in it, let alone try to transfer the credits.

If you were enrolled in the class then I would say send it in.

You should at least find out if you received a grade or not.

I was already leaning that way since it seems like finding what colleges I technically attended wouldn't be that hard for someone reviewing my application, and it would possibly hurt my chances if they ran my history and found a college unreported, even if I didn't attend for credits.

I'm honestly not even sure how I would go about that without requesting a transcript lol.

How would the LSAC learn that you took this type of course if you didn't report it to them? Do all U.S. colleges report this information to LSAC, and if so, why are applicants required to submit official transcripts?

Why are you saying technically? What do you mean?

You enrolled in a class, took the class, went to the class, except for the last two weeks, right?

If you enrolled, you have to report it.

If you enrolled, you have to send in the transcript. Ignore this at your peril.
