ED to Columbia or NYU?
Given the new medians, should a 4.0 172 ED to Columbia or NYU? Is it worth holding out hope for HYS still?

Without medians for Columbia, Yale, Harvard, or Stanford out yet it would be a bit premature to say. I'll bet though that after the numbers are out you'll still have an okay shot at Stanford depending on your softs, so if I were you I wouldn't be in a rush to ED anywhere.

You don't need to ED at either one, as long as you're submitting apps early. You're pretty much in at NYU (looking at LSN) and probably in at Columbia. Not worth the lost shot at scholarships, IMO. So unless you have a trust fund and don't care to try and score scholarships anywhere, I would just RD everywhere. A 99th percentile LSAT and a perfect GPA are nothing to sneeze at; you'll do well at CCN.

Why would you ED and guarantee yourself >$120k of debt when you are competitive for receiving big money from other T-14 schools?

CLS and NYU are both in New York. The debt is ~$45k/yr tuition + ~$25k/yr CoL + first-born child.D-ROCCA wrote:Why would you ED and guarantee yourself >$120k of debt when you are competitive for receiving big money from other T-14 schools?

I'd gladly give up my first-born child instead of the tuition.2ofspades wrote:CLS and NYU are both in New York. Neither, since you have a decent shot at H/S and possibly Y with great softs.

4.0, 172 should definitely apply to H and S... In fact the latest admissions cycle to H gave better chances to 4.0, 172 type applicants then the 2 or 3 years prior.hiddenfist wrote:Given the new medians, should a 4.0 172 ED to Columbia or NYU? Is it worth holding out hope for HYS still?
