Really weak softs
Think of the worst softs possible.
But you are near the 75th percentile for both gpa/lsat.
In? Out? What if you hit the 75th percentile for LSAT but slightly below for GPA?
Edit: Talking about t14 schools as the context here.

In (outside of HYS)
Unless by weakest possible you mean you used to rob liquor stores or something.

Nothing bad. But literally nothing anywhere. No resume, very little of anything.D. H2Oman wrote:In (outside of HYS)

I was in your boat, ok, well both my numbers were definitely not above the the 75th, so I was actually in a much more shitty/rusty boat that had sprung a leak and even still I don't think my complete lack of softs affected me at all. You should be fine.

Honestly... probably not. If your numbers really are that great, most schools will love you regardless of softs (or lack thereof).whymeohgodno wrote:This makes me nervous.beachbum wrote:Yikes. No jobs, clubs, volunteer work, awards... nothin?

I was above 75% LSAT, below 25% GPA, and had no softs except my succession of shitty minimum wage jobs, and I got i to my t-14 with that. You just gotta write the right essay.beachbum wrote:Yikes. No jobs, clubs, volunteer work, awards... nothin?

Of all the components of an app, softs are the least significant. It can put you over the top, but if you are at 75 on both percentiles then you are already over the top, and you would need some robbery charges to get you denied. Even Harvard and Yale would admit you pretty easily if you were over both 75ths (which are naturally very very high).

Or right at 75th on LSAT and a little below on GPA?

You're still probably set. Both LSAT and GPA substantially above median and you have high chances of admittance.whymeohgodno wrote:What if you were a little below 75th on both?legalease9 wrote:Of all the components of an app, softs are the least significant. Interviews with admissions deans suggest that your personal statement will be the most important factor outside of LSAT/UGPA. The fact that you have no other softs should not prevent you from writing a solid, coherent essay. Of course it's possible that your numbers alone will be sufficient for admission at some schools, but why risk it? Putting time into your essays should pay off.
