ED to Columbia or NYU with 162/170?
I took my first LSAT in 2007 with a 162 and my second in early 2009 with a 170. Would I be better off applying ED to NYU rather than Columbia?
Full brief..I graduated with a 3.78 GPA from U. Denver and with good internships during undergrad. I have been working as a corporate paralegal for the past 3 yrs.

ED to the one you'd rather go to.

I would be happy with either - but don't want to blow my chances at both with a bad decision.acrossthelake wrote:+1Hannibal wrote:ED to the one you'd rather go to.

How would you blow your chances at both?

ED to NYU applying to Columbia is a waste of an ED.

Also, you're going to need a good LSAT addendum b.c. both schools say they consider all LSAT scores in their admission decisions.

I think NYU "Averages"
I don't know if that's more or less than Columbia looking at all your scores.

While I think that you have a slim chance at Col. ED, you have a much better shot at NYU. ED to NYU if you insist on ED'ing to either. The thing though is that you have a great shot at serious money from MVPB. Good luck.

Both schools average, but scores at Columbia are more averaged than scores at NYU.JJDancer wrote:I think NYU "Averages"

Have fun in the village! Or come to MVPB - your choice.captainculpepper wrote:ED to NYU applying to Columbia is a waste of an ED.

Honestly, you are almost for sure not getting into either. Look at LSN yourself. But i've always heard NYU is more legit at averaging than Columbia so maybe Columbia.

+1 If you had a 170 in only shot, you would be better off ED-ing to NYU, but given that NYU is strict about averaging, you're better off applying ED to CLS.Patriot1208 wrote:Honestly, you are almost for sure not getting into either. Very, very slim chance at both... but since it's a 5+ score increase, maybe a compelling addendum would help at NYU?
