Checking more than one race box? Forum

How does checking both of the White and African-American boxes in the optional racial idetification catagory on a law school aplicationect your URM status? If your a combination of races do you still get URM status? I'm asking because my mother is white and my father is black , so technically I consider myself both . I want to increase my chances of acceptance tothe T20 by any and all factors considered, however I dont want the adcom to say " Well since he's White and Black , he's not full URM so we dont have to give him status and we will review his application against the majority" I dont know?... somebody with a valid factual information please pull my coat tail...

Don't worry about it. I check White and Black boxes as well, and we count the same as a full black person would for URM purposes.

Agreed. White and Black is essentially black. Welcome to the URM club.

Thank you for your insight , its actually funny you referenced Obama , because I was completing Colombia's application when this topic was formed.lol
