2011 Cycle on LSN
Does anyone know when they're gonna make 2011 an option on LSN? I know its only one day later than they opened it up last year, but it seems to me that there is a lack of management/moderation on that site. Has it been abandoned?
For example, how long have they been saying that 'transfer apps coming soon'? And all their OCI data is from 06/07. Struggling.

Interesting. I only looked at the cycles after September when the majority of schools let you apply.

Agreed, sanetruth. That site is gold, but it could be SO much better.

There are apps already available (since August 1) so I wish they'd get with it.

This would be very, very useful. I know there is already a transfer apps database elsewhere, but I feel like this would be more centralized, thorough, and better utilized.sanetruth wrote:For example, how long have they been saying that 'transfer apps coming soon'?

Same, I'm locked out of two LSN accounts, and I've sent them a few emails and no fix or anything. They should pass maintenance to someone else or a new group should create the site.romothesavior wrote:Agreed, sanetruth. That site is gold, but it could be SO much better.

They def update the new cycles, they're just not good with maintaining/updating the other stuff (rankings/transfer apps/promised added features).

Why do you have two LSN accounts?Knockglock wrote:Same, I'm locked out of two LSN accounts, and I've sent them a few emails and no fix or anything. Because my first LSN account got locked out from logging in, I kept getting an error message every single time. So I made a new LSN account in the hopes that it was just an account specific problem for me. However, it wasn't, and I keep getting the error message on my second as well.Hey-O wrote:Why do you have two LSN accounts?Knockglock wrote:Same, I'm locked out of two LSN accounts, and I've sent them a few emails and no fix or anything. I found that if I switched browsers, it would let me log in.Knockglock wrote:Because my first LSN account got locked out from logging in, I kept getting an error message every single time. I'm getting more and more convinced the site has been officially abandoned...

Domain is set to expire on Aug 24th. We'll see then if it is truly abandoned.sanetruth wrote:I'm getting more and more convinced the site has been officially abandoned...

I should probably state that the expiration date is never updated until the day after the old one, so no need to worry yet. But if it is still there after Aug 24th then at least we know someone is still paying for it.

I just sent the webmaster an email. If the site has been abandoned, chances are that I won't hear back (like Knock and his two locked accounts). We'll see!

I hope this isn't the case, its extremely useful - despite being anxiety-inducing. Even if they no longer allow new users to register for this cycle I hope they will at least keep the info from previous cycles accessible.sanetruth wrote:I'm getting more and more convinced the site has been officially abandoned...

We can jump over to admissionsdean if it has been abandoned. it's a better site regardless.

Nah, that's the only problem with it. lawschoolnumbers.com has waaaaay more data.sanetruth wrote:WHOA. how come i haven't seen this site before?? i haven't even seen it mentioned on TLS. anyways, thanks for that, you are correct it is better, but does it have a comparable amount of users?Hannibal wrote:We can jump over to admissionsdean if it has been abandoned. it's a better site regardless.

Well, if in fact LSN does go the way of the dodo, someone should make a post in the TLS Class of 2014 thread encouraging everyone to add a profile over at admissionsdean.Kurt Cobain wrote:Nah, that's the only problem with it. lawschoolnumbers.com has waaaaay more data.sanetruth wrote:WHOA. how come i haven't seen this site before?? i haven't even seen it mentioned on TLS. anyways, thanks for that, you are correct it is better, but does it have a comparable amount of users?Hannibal wrote:We can jump over to admissionsdean if it has been abandoned. it's a better site regardless.

This.. even if everyone this cycle moves to admissionsdean it'll be a shame not to have all the past data available on LSN to obsess over.......angiej wrote:I hope this isn't the case, its extremely useful - despite being anxiety-inducing. Re: 2011 Cycle on LSN
it's not been totally abandoned... The last time I visited about a month ago it said "Now open for 2009-2010 cycle" or something similar and now that's gone.
Probably a good sign
