UC Irvine Law-- What is the average LSAT/GPA needed?
Any info on what the numbers are for that school? I have a LSAC 3.86. But it is becoming very clear my LSAT will be dreadful. Low 150's. I hate the LSAT. Would a 160 give me a chance with fantastic softs?
I know UCI is out for me, but I am curious what numbers they are getting in the second year around now. The first year is not a very reasonable measurement.
Thanks folks.

Re: UC Irvine Law-- What is the average LSAT/GPA needed?
The inaugural class of 60 had a median gpa of 3.61 and median lsat of 167. If I recall correctly they gave that class huge scholarships(full tuition I think). Last cycle the scholarship guaranteed was down to 50% tuition and the new shine of the school was starting to wear off so Im not sure if that median LSAT stayed as high, 165-167 combined with a 3.86 should be competitive.

Thanks for the fast replies! I love UCI, got a paralegal cert there in the past, and it is my dream school. But, sadly, I am afraid my 3.86 will be wasted by my LSAT.
O well, luckily for me I believe in fate. So, wherever I end up is where I was meant to be. I just like to try and force it sometimes.....
Thanks.

Once the scholarships for all thing is done (are they still doing 50% scholarships for this class?), I think average LSAT scores will settle into the low 160s.

Here are the stats for this year's incoming class:tkgrrett wrote:The inaugural class of 60 had a median gpa of 3.61 and median lsat of 167. 25th/75th GPA: 3.38/3.79
25th/75th LSAT: 163/169
Here are the stats for the inaugural class:
25th/75th GPA: 3.43/3.76
25th/75th LSAT: 164/168
OP- UCI loves unique applicants with unique backgrounds. A score in the low 150s is just too low, unfortunately, but a 160 gives you a chance, assuming your softs are really interesting.

Side question for UCI because it seems like their only application possibility is the paper one:
Do LOR's have to be submitted by mail? Is it possible to have LSAC send them?
I'm asking because I asked for my LOR's a while ago and have them filed with LSAC but I am not sure whether the profs kept a copy of them.

LSAC can process your LORs for UCI. Remember to find UCI listed under non-ABA accredited schools on LSAC.bk187 wrote:Side question for UCI because it seems like their only application possibility is the paper one:

I did. It asks for a reporting fee. Then what? I am not sure what paying the $12 fee is going to do.ViP wrote:LSAC can process your LORs for UCI. The $12 fee is universal to all school applications, even in the case of a fee waver (unless you got an LSAC need-based fee waiver)

Re: UC Irvine Law-- What is the average LSAT/GPA needed?
Someone above me listed the numbers for the first to classes. I would expect the LSAT and GPA range to range to fall a point or two in this next cycle. I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. I think you would be competitive if you could pull it up to 163-165 range. On a side note if your in that range be sure to send Berkley an app. There's one or two people on this website with a high GPA like yours and low 160's LSAT who were accepted. Also if you really like UCI, go visit! The faculty and staff are so friendly and it couldn't hurt your chances! Good Luck!2807 wrote:Any info on what the numbers are for that school?
