Anyone ever had the balls to retake after getting a 180?
Just wondering if anyone has ever had the balls to retake a 180 score just to prove it wasn't a fluke?
How many people retake between 175 and 179?
Somewhat simplistic to say that because X got a 180 first time round they will always get a 180. I suppose they're proved they are capable of achieving the maximum, but what about Y who gets 170/180 ? They've proved it too, but School Q decides it's going to average. They aren't really averaging X's score, they just accept that their average score would be 180 compared to Y's 175. Not a fair comparison.

I forget which one, but founder of one of the LSAT test prep companies got a 180 at least four times just to prove he could.

If you click the "Research/Data" tab at lsac.org they have data on the repeaters for the most recent lsat.
Apparently 2 people retook from a 180 and they both scored within 170-180.
A total of 7 people scored this time who originally scored between 175~179 (4 w/ 175s, 1 each for 176~179). They all scored within 170~180 except for one person who had scored 175, this time s/he scored in the 160~169 range.......
There's also data on how many scored higher, how many scored lower and how many got the same score.

Next question: how many people have discovered their true love at their LSAT testing center?Skyhook wrote:Just wondering if anyone has ever had the balls to retake a 180 score just to prove it wasn't a fluke?

I'm curious if the numbers are roughly the same for both questions.

The couple talking across me in June seemed like they were trying...True love...
--------
So does this guy win a prize for 11 180's?
His average is 178 - do you think that counts against him at the schools that average!
--------
That repeater data was interesting, but I think they should have put what the actual retake score was, not just the range. It's too large a range to make any meaningful sense out of it.
e.g. 171 retakes and gets 169. In the table they go into the 160-169 range, we are left wondering which end of the range they were at.
Conversely, 166 retakes and ends up in 170-180 band. How much did they really improve?

The LSAC data you're citing is not from the most recent test. It is from 07-08. Just something to consider.kazu wrote:If you click the "Research/Data" tab at lsac.org they have data on the repeaters for the most recent lsat.

In 2008-2009, 3 people retook the LSAT after having earned a 180 at some point in their past.
http://www.lsac.org/pdfs/RepeaterData.pdf
Edit: and their average score on the retake was a 178.3, which means the lowest score one of them could have gotten on the retake was a 175 (if the other two got 180 each).
