Requesting Scholarship Increase Now?
So I'd planned on attending school X with $$ scholly. Along comes school Y asking me to apply now in July with promises of a nice offer. School Y gives me $$$. Thing is, I still want to attend school X, I just want to leverage more $ from them. Is there any drawback to doing this so late in the game? I don't recall any rule from them telling me to withdraw other applications when I deposited. Yet, since they've put me into a section already, given me my schedule etc., is there ANY drawback to negotiating?

There's no drawback, but it's likely that they don't don't have scholarship money left at this point.onthemoney wrote:So I'd planned on attending school X with $$ scholly. if they want you bad enough, there will be some money. a school i withdrew from months ago came out of nowhere with an insane scholarship offer, so i sent that email to the school i was currently deposited at and asked in a polite way if they can up their offer. in the end, the school i was deposited at had a 'small amount of money left over' and doubled their initial scholarship offer. you got nothing to lose other than the few minutes it will take to draft a good email/make a phone call.nycbiglawordie wrote:There's no drawback, but it's likely that they don't don't have scholarship money left at this point.onthemoney wrote:So I'd planned on attending school X with $$ scholly.
