Americorps VISTA-NYC

I've been accepted to an Americorps VISTA position in New York City and I'm planning to go to law school within a few years. Can anyone tell me of their experience working in NYC for Americorp VISTA. How hard was it financially? And given the structure of the program does it allow for ample time to study for the LSAT?
