Hi, I have a 177 on my LSAT and 3.96/4.00 GPA from a good school (top 25 private university). Graduated in 1992 summa cum laude with Highest Distinction and also Phi Beta Kappa. I am now age 40. Spent the years between then and now mostly discovering myself since I came from a dysfunctional family.
I have the following 11 criminal convictions:
1994:
misdemeanor negotiating worthless instrument
misdemeanor negotiating worthless instrument
misdemeanor negotiating worthless instrument
1995:
misdemeanor negotiating worthless instrument
misdemeanor aggregated negotiating worthless instrument (pled down from felony charge)
misdemeanor aggregated negotiating worthless instrument (pled down from felony charge)
misdemeanor operating after license suspension (suspended for failure to appear for traffic ticket)
misdemeanor operating after license suspension (suspended for failure to appear for traffic ticket)
1999:
misdemeanor theft
misdemeanor operating after license suspension (suspended for failure to appear for traffic ticket)
2004:
summary retail theft
I also have the following active bench warrants:
active misdemeanor bench warrant for FTA for 2008 misdemeanor arrest for false person
traffic warrant for failure to pay fine for 2006 traffic ticket
traffic warrant for failure to pay fine for 2007 traffic ticket
traffic warrant for failure to pay fine for 2008 traffic ticket
traffic warrant for failure to pay fine for 2008 traffic ticket
Those 5 active warrants are out of state and across the country, and are not entered into the NCIC system, so as long as I stay out of those states I am ok. I might take care of those when I have the money but that is not a priority right now since I am not applying to law school in those states.
Not sure if this matters, but I also have had six involuntary committments to mental hospitals in the 1990's and also two civil monetary judgments against me.
Previously attended law school in 1992-93 for a semester+ but withdrew due to health reasons (did well academically when I managed to get to class).
Fortunately, I have matured a lot since my troubled early adulthood and am healthy now.
What are my chances for law school admission and admission to the Bar? Shoud I apply to medical school instead?
