Geographic Minority?
Minority probably isn't the right word but it works. Is there any "preference" given to people from a long ways away, or maybe from a small state, or one they have had few to no students matriculate? Reason I ask is I know everyone and their brother from Nevada (my state) applies to the UC system, UT system, Oregon and Washington. Is there any advantage to my residence when I apply to schools back east?

I know some schools tout their "geographic diversity", I'm interested on how strongly they pursue this "diversity".vespertiliovir wrote:No

About as strongly as they pursue their touted "holistic" admissions process.wolfpack-avvocato wrote:I know some schools tout their "geographic diversity", I'm interested on how strongly they pursue this "diversity".vespertiliovir wrote:No

If schools don't value state of residence, then why is that an upcoming feature on lawschoolpredictor.com? Just wondering...

I think that is for in-state boosts at public schools.vsl89 wrote:If schools don't value state of residence, then why is that an upcoming feature on lawschoolpredictor.com? Just wondering...

You will get a small boost only for in-state applicants from certain schools I believe, mainly, if not all, public. Some schools also have a certain number or percentage of seats reserved for in-state applicants. I want to say UVA, UNC, and some other school are like this, but not really sure.vsl89 wrote:If schools don't value state of residence, then why is that an upcoming feature on lawschoolpredictor.com?
