Alumni LORs

Post by vale1rd » Wed Jul 14, 2010 12:05 am

I have a Harvard alumnus writing a letter of rec. However, he did not attend HLS (PhD in History) will it still have above average pull at HLS? I also have a professor (writing one) who used to teach Philosophy and Law at Northwestern (received his PhD from JHU unfortunately) will that letter have above average pull at NU?

No and no.

Unless your LOR writer has a building named after him, or abbreviates his job title as POTUS, you're not going to have above average pull. What he writes is more important, imo.
