Need your opinion

Post by CND02 » Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:47 am

Good morning, I was curious what you guys thought about me writing an explanation of my LSAT Score.

I scored a 159 on the test this past June. I am currently in the Navy and stationed overseas in Japan. I planned my leave around the test but the best my chain of command could give me was leaving on Sunday morning the day before the test. It was 30 hrs total travel time and I did not get back home until 1230 AM (Monday Morning the day of the test).

I would love to try and take it again but I am trying to transfer to the JAG Corp and they need their application in by Dec 1st. I will not be able to take the test again as I am back in Japan and we will be underway in October and Dec.

Is it worth me sending in an explanation or don't waste my time?
Thanks.

Not sure how this sort of thing works, but do you have a guarantee of some sort that you'll get into the JAG program?

Unfortunately there is guarantee from the JAG Corp although an acceptance letter from Fordham would help a lot. It would be nice since they would pay for law school but I probably wont find out until mid march if I get into the JAG Corp.

No harm in applying, I suppose. A higher LSAT score is probably needed for Fordham, and I wouldn't go much lower than that unless you have an acceptance from JAG.

But if you are getting paid to get a degree and you have a job lined up afterwards, then go for it.

Good luck, and thanks for your service.
