Can I, a foreign applicant, make it into T14?
Hi TLS people,
I find myself in unusual situation, applying to law school from a foreign undergrad. Dream choices--Y/S, top choice--ED at Chicago along with C/N, bottomline--hope to make it into T14. (Anticipating a question--upon graduation I want to work in international M&A/Corp Litigation.)
What do you think my chances are, given that I:
- Took the LSAT twice: 160, 169. Both writing samples I think are very poorly written.
- Don't have an LSDAS GPA, just labeled "superior," graduated with honors from a top university in Central Europe (majored in Governance and English).
- Am enrolled in a graduate program in my university, spent a year at Yale as a visiting researcher, won a good scholarship, interned for the national parliament, have a couple of years of relevant w/e.
Any educated opinion is highly appreciated. --yLLs
Edit: And yes, I am a foreign citizen, will it matter?

As for your chances, I would say prob not very good at the schools you listed.
Edit: the ED at Chicago could work though..

You, a foreign applicant, can make it into the T-14. For us, foreign applicants, law school is almost never worth the money unless we get into the T-14. Good luck to us, foreign applicants.

For me, an LSAT freak, this sounds like a reasoning flaw)) The fact that law school is worthless for us, foreign applicants, outside the T14, doesn't prove that we, foreign applicants, gotto make into T14.PLATONiC wrote:You, a foreign applicant, can make it into the T-14. You, the LSAT freak, lack the precise way of reasoning necessary for a successful LSAT score, for, I, a foreigner, did not say that it is worthless, although I did say "almost never worth the money." If you, a fellow foreign applicant, would like me, a fellow foreign applicant, to explain the conditional statement involving "unless," then I, a foreign applicant, would be more than willing to help you understand. Needless to say, I, a fellow foreign applicant/LSAT freak, understand that your position is also flexible insofar as you stated that my statements merely sound like a reasoning flaw, which means that you are open enough to accept the aforementioned claims, which means that we, foreign applicants, can coexist in TLS utopia.yLLs wrote:For me, an LSAT freak, this sounds like a reasoning flaw)) The fact that law school is worthless for us, foreign applicants, outside the T14, doesn't prove that we, foreign applicants, gotto make into T14.PLATONiC wrote:You, a foreign applicant, can make it into the T-14. Ok dude, dropping the matter of difference between "almost never" and "never," I wish you good luck too -- I feel you are going to take the damned thing.PLATONiC wrote:You, the LSAT freak, lack the precise way of reasoning necessary for a successful LSAT score, for, I, a foreigner, did not say that it is worthless, although I did say "almost never worth the money." Thank you guys for encouraging comments. Could you be a little more specific about the chances, as good chances at Y are different from those at GULC, and also point to the reason behind your opinion, if it's possible. Love, --yLLs
