I was surprised to get a fee waiver from Georgetown today. My lsat score is a 167 (kinda disappointing for me) and my gpa is btwn a 3.8-3.9 (waiting to see where it falls for lsac). I'm Latina, but I checked off the Central American box on the lsac form which I've been told doesn't count as a URM. Is the lsat fee waiver a good sign or is it pretty meaningless?
I'm asking because I was thinking of re-taking the lsat with places like Georgetown, Berkeley, UCLA, and UT on my wishlist. So far Georgetown is the only place on that wishlist to offer a fee waiver. Advice?

Fee wavers don't mean anything. Yale has given out fee waivers to people with 165s. If more people apply to a school and they still accept the same amount, the % accepted becomes smaller --> the school is viewed as more selective, which is in their favor.

It's definitely an incentive to apply, but not sure if it means you have a better chance. Schools wants as many students to apply as possible, so that their numbers look good.

It means nothing in terms of your chances. However, it does mean you can apply for only 12 bucks. Go for it!

With those numbers, you do have a shot at Georgetown. I say if you think you have a chance and you have a fee waiver, why not??

No I got a fee waiver from NYU for them to reject my ass. I was below slightly below their medium for LSAT. I think they just want people to apply to reject them. Dont take it as a sign you will get in.
