LOR's from alum

Post by dabbadon8 » Thu Jul 08, 2010 8:53 am

All things being equal. Would an adcomm value a LOR from an alum of their law school more then a hypothetically identical letter from someone else? I know an alum could be in the position to write a good letter as to why you may be a good fit for that particular school, but does the fact that they are an alum carry any weight on its own?

By all means, get a strong recommendation from an alum of the school you want to go to. It can´t hurt. Don´t count on it getting you in at a school you don´t have the numbers for, though.
