Short- Mid distance move question

Post by HBK » Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:24 pm

I am moving from Austin to Dallas. Are you supposed to hire the movers in the town you're moving to or the town you're moving from?

I've got a group in Austin I've used before, and I've gotten quotes from them, but thought if you hire a group where you're moving to- their furniture guys can patch up any scratches and/or it may be easier to get reimbursed for damages.

Anyone have any insight or company recommendations?

Also, I've looked up some companies on citysearch, and it's funny that they'll all have 20+ glowing reviews, but if you look at the review profiles, the reviewers have only ever reviewed the movers. Seems fishy, like they're writing their own reviews.

Try Hawk Movers. They might go to Austin. I've used them several times and been very happy each time.
