Ok, I agree. Probably higher than yours. In any case, I know that the word "unique" means "only one." Here it modifies "terrible" meaning that law is in a terrible situation different from any other terrible situation that may or may not exist in any othe profession. My terse resposne was meant to refer to the fact that you clearly have no idea what it is like in other professions if you think that law is in a "uniquely terrible" situation. My numbers at my current school mean that, even ITE, I will be able to get a job that pays 160K per year. In my previous profession, I would never have made over 50K/year. Now, I may not get that job, but even my fallback options are likely much better than they would have been pre law school. If not, I have taken a chance, and it did not work out.EnriqueL wrote:What was your LSAT score?KMaine wrote:You are stupid.EnriqueL wrote:but law is in a uniquely terrible situation.
I do not think the entire premise of your flame is stupid, although I do not understand why you are spending your Friday doing this. And you may not be stupid. In fact, you are probably rather intelligent. There is enough information to support your contentions without resulting to hyperbole. Stick with that. BTW -- snappy comeback.

You guys are all acting like a bunch of T3 0Ls who are told "don't go to law school."
They ignore all the logic/experience/advice/blogs.
They don't even consider for a second that what the person is telling them might be right.
Instead they come up with a predetermined outcome (that law school is the right choice) and then try to come up with arguments that justify the decision.
I always thought that T3 students were being stupid when they were repeatedly warned and still wanted to go. I thought, "their silly, I know its their dream, but clearly this won't work out for them." I couldn't understand how they could ignore the logic.
After seeing all the posts in response to OP, I now understand the T3s. I'm thinking to myself (as I'm sure many of you are) "its okay I'm going to be well above median! I'll do extra well. Getting a job won't be a problem for ME- it will be other peoples problem." Denial is an ugly thing.
Lots of irony and hypocrisy in this thread.

I'm just trying to provide you with some honest advice. FINE, DON'T LISTEN TO SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE. YOUR CURRENT BAR STUDY HABITS ARE GOING TO LEAD TO FAILURE. THIS MESSAGE BOARD IS A SCAM DESIGNED TO ROB YOUR TIME.EnriqueL wrote:

Eh, I think the whole corrupt government thing is overblown. In my city at least, the annual budget is published with revenue, including sources, aligned with spending. You can clearly see that the recent tax increases have indeed gone to education, and the ex-superintendent recently explained to me how the funds were necessary to provide computer software to students that was expensive up front, but will save a lot of money down the line.Ty Webb wrote:This is correct.truffleshuffle wrote:Ok, I agree. Wow, sorry guys. Every state is having trouble actually making a budget, but once they come up with one it'll be there for you to see, right?
