3.86, 167...Advice?

Post by tomcox10 » Fri Jul 02, 2010 3:17 am

LSAT:167
GPA: 3.86

Took about 7 practice tests and no prep course before taking the LSAT. Should I retake?
My number one school is UVA. I have an average set of extra-curriculars. What schools should I be looking at as of right now?

Retake for sure. And think about it this way... if you get a 171, 172+ your looking at chances of 1/2 to full tuition to UVA.

So invest the time into the LSAT as a job with a payoff of 60k to 120k dollars.

UVa's median GPA was 3.85, you're just above that. If you ED, you'd have a shot of making it in.

Well if I retake, the area I'm going to have to improve in to get in the 170's is the logic games section. I did about 50 total games in prep and was only ever able to consistently finish 3 to 3 and a half games in a section in 35 minutes. Any tips on being able to speed up so I can get through all 4?

On the real LSAT, I got through 17 of the 23 questions, got all 17 of those right, and then got 1 out of the next 6 I guessed on right.

Treat the Powerscore Logic Games Bible like it is the real, actual bible. Read it religiously.

I don't think laughing at and making fun of the Powerscore books would help me do well on the LSAT...
