UCLA and Indiana, but no Columbia (missed Chicago too). I'm one of the ones with an LSAT from last year who hasn't been getting as many waivers as hoped (3.86/178).

With those numbers, please be sure to email each school and see if they will give you a merit-based fee waiver. I would think you should have no problem blanketing the T14. The problem might be your 'expected enrollment year' on LSAC.The Real Jack McCoy wrote:UCLA and Indiana, but no Columbia/Chicago. Yes, you're right, and I intend on doing that. I did change the expected enrollment year + registered for a forum over a month back, but it is all hit and miss (Duke PT is my best unsolicited waiver so far.... I also emailed UVA and got a waiver).Long Live Jacox wrote:With those numbers, please be sure to email each school and see if they will give you a merit-based fee waiver. Somewhat odd, I have a 176 on the LSAT, and got my first waiver today from UCLA.

Completely ecstatic over UCLA. I know it's not an acceptance or anything but I'm still happy! It's also my only usable waiver besides William and Mary and UVA.
The email read: "Based on your performance on the LSAT you may be a competitive candidate for admittance and for the possibility of a Dean's Merit Scholarship."

I wonder how they determined that by only looking at your GPA/LSAT. I thought numbers were only a part of an applicant and that schools take a "holistic approach" in their evaluation.beachbum wrote:Weak. haha, I know right. And this is coming from a school that I went out of my way to visit this past summer. Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
I thought it was awfully ironic that Columbia kept stressing how the LSAT was the only reason they were offering me the waiver, when I am almost completely certain that me having a 160 is obviously not why they offered me the waiver . I'm sure being an AA Male had nothing whatsoever to do with it .

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
So I got Columbia and UCLA today, I have my LSAT in (172) but no transcripts reported yet. Anyways, about UCLA, they actually sent me two emails. I thought it was just a redundant error but now that this discussion has taken place, I looked over them:
The first said "competitive for admittance" and the second email included "and the dean scholarship..."
Weird that they sent it twice haha...
PS: The only big schools I've gotten them from with that LSAT have been UVA, UCLA, and CLS... maybe it's the transcripts not being in but this stinks. I definitely wish I had a Duke PT or Michigan waiver...

Of the schools that haven't been mentioned:
University of Denver 7/08/10
St. Louis University 2/09/10
I mean, I got a bunch more and no one probably cares about these particular schools, but there not listed on the first page. So there you have it.

I don't think anyone got fee waiver from Michigan via email. Seems like they gave out hidden fee waivers first and then posted the snail mail.jt1341 wrote:oh and i say via email because i got one from Michigan monday in the mail. They didnt send me an email kind of odd.

Yeah, I got this one too, but also got one mentioning the scholarship. It's like they couldn't make up their minds.beachbum wrote:haha, I know right.
