I'm at least 1/4 cherokee indian. Both my great grandmothers were full cherokee.

On my lsac profile it says both causasin and native american and on my LSAT I put "native american."

After many discussions read, and info stating that a minority could be classified all the way down to 1/16th, I think it's in my best interest to apply URM.

Facts are fact and I'm at least 1/4 native american. My question is simply if they'll see me and think "this looks like a white dude" and I'll have to take a blood test for lineage, etc (lol-a bit of a strecth, but you know what I mean...

) .

Thoughts of this? And yes I'm obviously hoping for a slight admission edge (God knows I need it), but in this case I have the bloodline to prove so.

If 1/16 is the limit and you've got 1/4 I'm pretty sure you're good to go. I'd milk it for all its worth.

Schools like URMs that are somehow involved in that community. I have no idea how much of a difference it makes in the boost, but it'll be at least somewhat better if you could show involvement.

Well, when I applied for my UG, I didn't claim it because I felt embarresed. I felt that I didn't want to "abuse" the system, because I'm not a native american "looking" individual.

Now, I feel stupid that I let me damn ego stop me. I think it may help me and I think I have the right to use it. I guess I'm just trying to reassure myself that it's morally right. But then again, if I'm to be an attorney...

I have more through different grandparents too, but just saying that those 2 were full.

I don't think theres an issue with you claiming a NA bloodline but I do think many adcomms will look for involvement within your cultural community. If you don't have that or dont show a connection to your culture I'm not sure what kind of boost you will get.
