I would also appreciate if someone could confirm this as well, because I think some schools (if not most or all) will take the October LSAT as the last possible LSAT for ED/EA

Yes, some schools do take ED and wait for the Oct results.

FWIW, I'm retaking Oct and I've decided to apply early, but not ED.
