What grades do you guys think one needs to transfer from SCU to Hastings. Top 10%, 20%, third?
Also, any advice on the types of statements of purpose that are successful? Do they matter?
Thanks in advance..

depending on your financial aid situation there, you might want to stay put.
but I'd probably guess top 25% for a shot, top 15% for a good shot.

I attend Hastings...I am just saying if you have a good scholarship (not likely given how stingy SCU generally is), it might make more sense to stay at SCU.alhammondsucks wrote:Not a hastings fan?General Tso wrote:depending on your financial aid situation there, you might want to stay put.

Are you looking to work in the city or east bay, or are you happy in the south bay?

ah, well you should get at least 7k in grants from Hastings assuming you have some debt.alhammondsucks wrote:I get 11k/yr, but I want to live/study/work in the city and I don't like the direction SCU rankings have been headed. So I think it's a no-brainer even if I don't get money from Hastings.
I'd say go for it, especially if you want to work in the city. it's surprising how few SCU grads land jobs on the peninsula (although it seems the opportunities there for Hastings grads may be diminishing as well).
