Transfer Concerns
I currently go to Emory Law and just got my grades and ended up with a 2.5 for my first year. I really want to transfer to either SMU, OU, OCU, or Houston. Will I have a problem being able to transfer with those grades? I'm a little worried and just was looking for thoughts. I'm transferring because of family reasons. Anways, thanks in advance!

According to NALP, for the 2009 graduating class at Emory the grade cut-offs were:
Top 10%: 3.662
Top 25%: 3.496
Top 33%: 3.419
and the minimum grade required for graduation is a 2.25. A 2.5 isn't looking that great. Emory is a good school but even if you are looking to transfer down many schools (like Temple) specifically state that they won't consider transfers with class rank below 20%. It can't hurt to apply, but it sounds like you are in a pretty bad position...
