Getting Into Harvard
That's my goal and dream.
I'm at a state school for my first four years. What GPA and LSAT would consider me a lock?

None. They're are so many qualified people just in numbers alone. You have to have mid 170's+, high GPA, great softs etc. (assuming you are not a URM) and even then you won't be a "lock."MIAOKLAUSCTENN wrote:That's my goal and dream.

Hypothetical:
4.0
175
Tons of ECs
How would that stack up?

If you search within the applicants, those with above a 3.8 and a 175 get in with about an 80% pass rate (ball parking it).

Assuming you can write a stellar ps, are not obviously and openly Republican, and are not totally lacking the common sense to put together a descent app, sure why not? But first you have to put up those numbers.MIAOKLAUSCTENN wrote:Hypothetical:

Nope. I'm an open liberal/progressive/republican-hating independent who leans libertarian on most issues.anthropologieaddict wrote:Assuming you can write a stellar ps, are not obviously and openly Republican, and are not totally lacking the common sense to put together a descent app, sure why not? If you hit both medians (3.9+/173+), you should have excellent chances.

You don't need "great softs." Just do a few things that excite you. Keep your grades up (ideally 3.9+, definitely 3.8+). Fuck a lot of women and take the LSAT your junior year.

This actually doesn't have nearly the negative impact that people would think. I believe there was a TLS poster a couple cycles ago who got into Yale Law from Bob Jones University.anthropologieaddict wrote:Assuming you can write a stellar ps, are not obviously and openly Republican, and are not totally lacking the common sense to put together a descent app, sure why not? I recall him getting a bit testy after people called him out for making an argument which went something along the lines ofmallard wrote:Wasn't there a thread where he kinda crashed and burned?SoftBoiledLife wrote:This actually doesn't have nearly the negative impact that people would think. More than likely it was more artfully done than that, but surely theology was the chink in his intellectual armor. In any event, to prevent a derail, the point is that your political affiliations won't keep you out of law school unless you're in the Klan or something.

What if a smart guy interprets the Klan manifesto literally?

Bothers me so much how they say "LSATs" like it's plural. Even the pre-law advisor (I think that's what she is) says it as plural.acrossthelake wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-Kcx2q6 ... re=related
