LSDAS GPA Question
Alright I have a question which maybe someone here can help with.
The school that I'm finishing up my undergrad with accepts AP scores but only awards credit for them, no grades. However, I have taken classes at another state school in my hometown, and they DO award letter grades for AP classes, in particular I could have 7 more credits of "A" thrown on my transcript I believe.
Now my question is how sketchy would that look, or would it be questionable for me to go to the non-degree granting school, kindly ask them to process my AP scores and get them put onto that transcript? Assuming that was done, even though the same scores are on my degree granting transcript as credit only, I have to assume that I would get the letter grade and corresponding GPA boost from LSDAS correct?
I hate that it is such a numbers game that situations like this even arise, but I want to know if anyone has an opinion on whether this would be legitimate and ethical, because it would boost my GPA by something like .06, which would be terrific.
Thanks for the help!

Re: LSDAS GPA Question
If the A's are on the transcript, then LSAC will count them. Doesn't sound unethical to me.

Re: LSDAS GPA Question
I took classes there in Fall 2009 and to this day they email me about all of mass student emails and the ones trying to get me to sign up for classes for next year, so honestly they might think I'm presently attending, but that is another issue altogether...xyzzzzzzzz wrote:Will the school that awards letter grades for AP classes do this if you aren't presently attending ?
I'm going to go talk to the registrar about it tomorrow, it just strikes me as a really shady way to boost ones GPA and I wanted a second opinion of sorts and where else to go but here?

Re: LSDAS GPA Question
Sorry to bump this, but I wanted to give an update for anyone who might be able to benefit.
What I outlined in the first post works...
If you have AP scores that will give you grades at a school other than your degree granting school and you manage to convince that other school to put the scores on your transcript, LSAC puts them on your GPA. So while my degree granting school has the AP scores on there, but only as credit, the non degree school gave me 7 additional credits of A which gave me a much appreciated cumulative GPA boost.
