Question about a 2nd Deposit

Post by clint4law » Sat Jun 05, 2010 3:09 pm

So I'm about to send in my second seat deposit and the school is asking for a list of all the other schools I am currently waitlisted at......I listed the schools and also checked off that I plan on enrolling in this particular school in the Fall.
Are there any particular consequences for listing the other schools? What's the reason the admissions office needs this info?

The waitlist info probably helps them figure out their yield or something. I don't think it's a big deal.

They want to know what their competition is.

If you're in at #30 and WL'ed at #14, they know you aren't matriculating if you get off the WL.

I believe after the 15th they'll have the report that lists where everyone is deposited at anyways. If you lie, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look favorably on you.

On the other hand, you could try this and then report back how it worked out for you! :D

It's already been reported weeks ago.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the report schools receive only shows where prospective students are deposited at, not which waitlists one is a member of.

Ah... true! RC fail on my part. Well hell, I'd still disclose everything. Perhaps they'll throw in some $$ upon an offer to keep you from accepting a higher school.
