Is there a way to find out what my uni's average GPA is?
Isn't there a way through LSAC? I don't have an LSAC account yet. I'm honestly just wondering what kinda of GPA it would take to get latin honors at my school since they do it on a percentage basis.

I couldn't find one. I e-mailed my undergraduate adviser and he was able to give me that info sorted out by major and class year

Who cares?
What does the group have to do with the individual?
You think employers care?

My transcript just got processed by LSAC, and it now shows the overall GPA for my school for the year I graduated. That's the number that will get passed on to admissions offices. Unfortunately for those of us that went to non-grade-inflating schools, it doesn't seem the admissions people care much, if at all. And the latin honors won't really matter - my 3.49 was magna cum laude, 3.55 was summa at my school, but nobody cares, they just see 3.49.

Check with your VP or Dean of Academic Affairs (or a comparable office). They should have it.

Well after you send LSAC your transcripts and register with the Assembly Service, you can go into your LSAC account and click on Academic Summary Report. The report includes a breakdown of LSAT scores and gpas from your school.

Of course it matters. In the era of massive grade inflation across the board, employers are going to want to know how you stand among the rest of your peers. A 3.8 with summa cum laude distinction is going to look better than a 3.8 cum laude. If it's a GPA threshold then it doesn't matter, but if it's based on percentages (like it is at my school) it matter a whole lot.SuperFreak wrote:Who cares?
